Utbah and Shaibah were staunch enemies of Islam. However, on this occasion, seeing the pitiable condition of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), they were overcome by feelings of sympathy.<\/p>\n<p>After Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) entered their orchard, they summoned their slave, Addaas, and said to him, \u201cPlace a bunch of grapes on a platter and take it to that man (referring to Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam)). Request him to partake of the grapes.\u201d When Addaas presented the platter of grapes to Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), then he had found that Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) recited bismillah and then commenced eating the grapes.<\/p>\n<p>Hearing Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) take the name of Allah Ta\u2018ala, he exclaimed, \u201cBy Allah! No person in this city speaks words such as these!\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) asked Addaas, \u201cWhich city are you from, and what religion do you follow?\u201d Addaas replied, \u201cI come from the city Neenway and I follow the Christian religion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) asked, \u201cAre you from the same city of Neenway in which the pious servant of Allah Ta\u2018ala, Nabi Yunus bin Mattaa (\u2018alaihis salaam), used to reside?\u201d Addaas was quite surprised and asked Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), \u201cWhat do you know of Nabi Yunus bin Mattaa (\u2018alaihis salaam)?\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) responded, \u201cHe was my brother, a prophet of Allah Ta\u2018ala, and I am also a prophet of Allah Ta\u2018ala.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hearing this, Addaas immediately kissed the blessed feet, hands and forehead of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) and accepted Islam testifying, \u201cI bear witness that you are the servant and Rasul of Allah Ta\u2018ala!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Utbah and Shaibah had been observing the scene, and on seeing Addaas kissing the hands, feet and forehead of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), one of them said to the other, \u201cThis man has corrupted your slave!\u201d When Addaas then returned to them, they said to him, \u201cWhy did you kiss the hands and feet of that man?\u201d Addaas replied, \u201cMy master! There is nothing on the surface of the earth better than this (deen he has brought), and he informed me of such a thing which only a Nabi could have knowledge of!\u201d They retorted saying, \u201cWoe to you, O Addaas! Do not let him turn you away from your religion, as your religion is better than his religion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Jinn of Naseebeen Listening to the Qur\u2019aan Majeed at Nakhlah<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On the return journey from Taa\u2019if, Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) stopped in a place named Nakhlah which is the distance of one night\u2019s journey from Makkah Mukarramah. Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) spent a few days in Nakhlah.<\/p>\n<p>During this period, while Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) was engaged in performing salaah, a group of seven jinn from Naseebeen (a city in Shaam) passed by. While passing, they stopped and listened to Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) while he was reciting the Qur\u2019aan Majeed. After listening to the recitation of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), they departed. So, when they attended it, they said (to each other), \u201cKeep quiet.\u201d Then once it was over, they went back to their people as warners. They said, \u201cO our people, we have heard a book sent down after Nabi Musa (\u2018alaihis salaam), confirming what was before it, which guides to the truth and to a straight path. O our people, respond to Allah\u2019s messenger, and believe in him, and (once you do that,) Allah will forgive your sins for you, and will save you from a painful punishment. The one who does not respond to Allah\u2019s messenger is not (able) to cause failure (to Allah) in the land, and for him there are no supporters besides Him. Such people are in open error. (Surah Ahqaaf v. 29-32)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Returning to Makkah Mukarramah<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On the return journey from Taa\u2019if, as Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) came close to Makkah Mukarramah, Hazrat Zaid bin Haarithah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) asked him, \u201cHow are you going to enter the city of Makkah when you have been taken out by the people?\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) replied, \u201cO Zaid! Allah Ta\u2018ala will certainly make a way out for me from this difficulty, and Allah Ta\u2018ala is the One who will always support His deen and cause His Nabi to triumph over the enemies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>From this, we see the reliance that Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) had upon Allah Ta\u2018ala and the hope of receiving His divine mercy and assistance.<\/p>\n<p>Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) then came to the cave of Hira on the outskirts of Makkah Mukarramah. From the Cave of Hira, he sent a message with Abdullah bin Urayqit to Akhnas bin Shuraiq asking, \u201cWill you grant me amnesty and protection to enter Makkah Mukarramah?\u201d Akhnas responded saying, \u201cI am an ally of the Quraish, hence I cannot grant you amnesty and protection.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) thereafter sent a message to Suhail bin Amr, asking him for amnesty and protection to enter Makkah Mukarramah. Suhail replied, \u201cMy clan \u2013 the clan of Banu Aamir &#8211; cannot grant you amnesty and protection as we will be opposing the clan of Banu Ka\u2019b of the Quraish.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) then sent a message to Mut\u2019im bin Adiyy asking, \u201cWill you grant me amnesty and protection to enter Makkah Mukarramah?\u201d Mut\u2019im agreed to grant Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) amnesty and protection. Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) thus entered Makkah Mukarramah and spent the night at the home of Mut\u2019im bin Adiyy.<\/p>\n<p>The following morning, Mut\u2019im together with his sons, who were six or seven in number, armed themselves and went to the Haram with Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam). On entering the Haram, Mut\u2019im announced, \u201cO people of the Quraish! I have granted amnesty and protection to Muhammed, so no one should interfere with him!\u201d Mut\u2019im then told Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) that he could perform tawaaf. Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) then kissed the Hajar-e-Aswad, and commenced performing tawaaf of the Ka\u2019bah Shareef, while the sons of Mut\u2019im sat on the mataaf area, carrying their swords.<\/p>\n<p>Observing this spectacle, Abu Sufyaan came to Mut\u2019im and asked him, \u201cHave you merely granted him amnesty, or have you followed him in his deen as well?\u201d Mut\u2019im replied, \u201cI have only granted him amnesty. I have not accepted his religion.\u201d Abu Sufyaan responded saying, \u201cIn that case, your protection and amnesty will not be violated. We will respect the protection of the one to whom you have given protection.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On completing his tawaaf, Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) performed two rakaats of salaah, and then proceeded to his home with Mut\u2019im and his sons escorting him and protecting him.<\/p>\n<p>Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) never forgot the kindness which Mut\u2019im bin Adiyy showed him on that occasion, until a few years later, on the occasion of Badr, when Allah Ta\u2018ala granted Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) and the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhum) clear victory, and many of the kuffaar leaders were killed and their soldiers taken as captives, then upon seeing the kuffaar captives of war, Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cIf Mut\u2019im bin Adiyy was alive today and he had interceded to me on behalf of these impure people (referring to the disbelieving prisoners, asking me to release them, then out of consideration for him), I would have certainly released all of them.\u201d <em>(Saheeh Bukhaari #3139)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>(Sharhuz Zurqaani 2\/56-67, Al Bidaayah wan-Nihaayah 3\/135, Zaadul Ma\u2019aad , Tabaqaat Ibnu Sa\u2019d)<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) was driven out of Taa\u2019if and pelted with stones, he came to the orchard of Utbah and Shaibah.
