On one occasion, Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) enquired from Hazrat Busrah bintu Safwaan (radhiyallahu \u2018anha) as to which person had proposed to marry her niece, Ummu Kulthoom bintu Uqbah.<\/p>\n

She informed him of the names of a few people who had proposed for her niece, and she also informed him that among the people who had proposed for her niece was Abdur Rahman bin Auf (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu).<\/p>\n

Upon this, Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said to her, \u201cGet her (your niece, Ummu Kulthoom,) married to Abdur Rahmaan bin Awf, for indeed, he is from among the best of the Muslims, and whoever among the Muslims is like him, they are also among the best of the Muslims\u201d. (Al-Mu\u2019jamul Awsat #1187)<\/em><\/p>\n

In one narration, it is mentioned that Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) also said, \u201cGet her (your niece, Ummu Kulthoom,) married to the leader of the Muslims \u2013 Abdur Rahmaan bin Awf.\u201d (Al-Isaabah 14\/502)<\/p>\n

In another narration, it is mentioned that Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cIf she marries him (Abdur Rahmaan bin Awf), she will be content and happy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Upon hearing this, Hazrat Ummu Kulthoom (radhiyallahu \u2018anha) immediately sent a message to her stepbrother, Hazrat Uthmaan (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) and to her uncle, Hazrat Khaalid bin Sa\u2019eed (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu), to accept the proposal of Hazrat Abdur Rahmaan bin Awf (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) and get her married to him.<\/p>\n

After the nikaah, when they began staying with each other, Hazrat Ummu Kulthoom (radhiyallahu \u2018anha) mentioned, \u201cWallah, I am extremely content and happy (with my husband, Abdur Rahmaan bin Awf).<\/p>\n

In this way, the mubaarak words of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) became a reality.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
